I use Google Classroom to post assignments, updates and resources.  Students have all been given an access code.

If you have any questions about my classes or are a parent or guardian who would like access to my English 2 Honors or TOK/Thesis Google Classroom pages, please email me at

This is my first year at AMHS.  Previously, I have been a teacher and/or school counselor at Summerville High School, Fort Dorchester High School, Wando High School, James Island Charter High School and St. John's High School.

I have an undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Secondary Education/English and a Master's Degree from The Citadel in Secondary School Counseling.  My Master's +30 is in curriculum and instruction.  Additionally, I am Nationally Board Certified in English Language Arts.  This is my 29th year teaching in one of SC's public schools.

Over the last 15 years, my niche has been working with academically gifted students serving as a classroom teacher of honors students and as an International Baccalaureate and AP Coordinator.

By delving into works of literature and studying them in depth, my hope is that students who enter my classroom will become better writers, thinkers and problem solvers.

When I am not planning lessons or grading papers, I enjoy being at Folly Beach, watching and reading crime dramas, printmaking, and spending time with my daughter, husband and dog.
