When I was growing up, I was surrounded by teachers.  There are so many teachers in my family that we could open our own school; we would have every subject covered from physical education to art to music. After some soul-searching and post-college experineces in New York City, I followed in my mother's footsteps and became an English teacher. I have taught for 16 years in many different types of school settings, including a small alternative school in the South Bronx, a Charleston charter school, and now AMHS.  I feel very fortunate to work in the profession I do, and do feel that I was called to teach.  I am also a mother to two young boys, ages 8 and 3.  In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, running, and traveling.
