General Art Class Information

Welcome to art class! Here is some information to get you on your way:

Classroom Rules/Consequences

Each student is required to (in addition to AMHS/CCSD rules) to:

  1. Be IN class on time. Get your art folders and materials ready to go for the period.
  2. No cellphone use during class. Silence your cellphone and put it in your assigned cellphone storage pocket.
  3. Only ONE person at a time can leave the class. See teacher before you go.  Sign out by exit.
  4. Participate meaningfully during class:  Listen first and raise your hand to speak.
  5. Keep objects and art materials earthbound and don’t use them on each other or art room furnishings.
  6. At the end of class leave the art room tidy and help others to do the same.
  7. NO FOOD is to be eaten during class.

Consequence sequence: Verbal warning, teacher/student conference, teacher/parent contact, administrative involvement

How To Pass

I grade using a point system.  Normally, major assignments/tests are worth 100 points.  Daily classwork/homeworks are worth 10-50 points.  If you put forth your best effort, listen and contribute to discussions, and keep the art room clean your grade will reflect it.


Lab Materials


In order to have art supplies, I rely on your generosity.  Materials are not provided by the school district.  The fees are:

Art 1: $35 for the year

AP Art: $45 for the year

Photography: $65 for the year with the option to buy additional film/paper

Additionally, each student needs to bring ONE ROLL of paper towels. 

Field trips are not included in the above fee.  THANKS so much for helping me create a great art program!
