Academic Magnet Foundation

Welcome to the Academic Magnet Foundation! Read on to learn more about who we are, and ways you can get involved.

Who are we?

Academic Magnet Foundation is one of Magnet’s three dedicated parent groups, including Partners in Education (PIE) and Academic Magnet High School Booster Club. While each parent group has a distinct mission and focus, we work together to provide the additional programming that makes Magnet a top-tier, nationally ranked school and a special place for our students and faculty.

What does Academic Magnet Foundation Do?

Our mission, put simply, is to enhance Magnet’s long-term excellence. We do this by funding programs that support and enhance student outcomes before, during, and after their four years at Magnet. Our signature programs include:

  • Juniors Take Flight, an all-day immersive workshop led by college admission specialists that gives students tools—and an extra edge—to narrow down their college search and begin the college application process.
  • ACT/SAT Test Prep, a program tailored specifically to Magnet’s students’ unique needs so they can master advanced test-taking strategies and achieve top scores.
  • Summer Scholars, a multi-day rite of passage that orients new and transfer students and allows them to start Magnet with confidence, a new set of friends, and a better understanding of the school.
  • Professional development for teachers, including state, regional, and national conferences not funded by CCSD so that our teachers can grow their knowledge, advance their pedagogy, and help students improve their outcomes.

How can you help?

We depend on members of the Magnet community like you to make our mission a reality. For the Love of Magnet, our annual fundraising campaign, kicks off each winter. It is our primary means of funding these key programs each year.

We invite you to participate and make a gift to support critical long-term programs that help AMHS maintain exceptionally high standards.

With your gift, you will be the reason Academic Magnet and its students achieve new levels of excellence for years to come.
