Canvas is the instructional technology platform that most teachers utilize for instruction and assignments. It is also the place where students will submit much of their work. Parents and guardians can gain access to their learner’s Canvas.

Chromebooks

AMHS raptors can check-out a Chromebook for short or long-term use.

 

Clever, Digital Resources, & Destiny Discover

The Student Portal (also known as Clever) is the application (accessible via CCSD Bookmarks) through which you can access all of CCSD’s digital resources. Included are our e-books, audiobooks, databases, and more.

  • Please follow these directions to log into your Chromebook and access the student portal.

Destiny Discover is the integrated library system used by CCSD. Through our Destiny Discover Catalog, you can learn what books are available in the library and access research tools and other public libraries.

 

Gmail

At AMHS, checking your email and communicating with your teachers and other students via email is crucial to your success as a raptor. 

  • CCSD uses Gmail as our email system
  • Teachers’ emails use the following convention:
    • FirstName_LastName@charleston.k12.sc.us
  • Students’ emails use the following convention: 
    • First three letters of last name + first three letters of first name + last four digits of your CCSD student ID + ccsdschools.com
      • Example: Remy Raptor Student ID: 12874364
      • email = raprem4364@ccsdschools.com.
  • If you need to change your password, please contact Dr. Russell or call the CCSD Tech Support line (843-308-8181)

 

Guest WiFi & AMHS WiFi

All students and guests wishing to use their own devices at Academic Magnet High School can access our school-wide WiFi (see Dr. Russell, Rm. 8203 for sign-in credentials). Others should install a Guest WiFi certificate using these directions provided by the district's division of Information Technology.

New Student Portal

CCSD utilizes the new Student Portal as a “one-stop-shop” for students’ access to all technology resources. Raptors can utilize their email, Canvas, PowerSchool, Clever, and much more via the new Student Portal.

  • To access MyPortal from a desktop computer, follow this link
  • Students’ username is the same as the beginning of their email address.
    • Example: Remy Raptor      Student ID: 12874364 
    • Username = raprem4364
    • first three letters of last name + first three letters of first name + last four digits of their student ID number
  • Students set their own password to MyPortal
  • If you need help resetting your password, please contact Dr. Russell, CCSD Tech Help (843-308-8181) or Ms. Fisher.

 

PowerSchool Parent Portal

PowerSchool is the system used within CCSD to track student attendance and grades.

For questions related to absences, please contact Ms. Sarah Fisher (Sarah_Fisher@charleston.k12.sc.us), our AMHS attendance clerk.
